Did you miss the charitable donations tax credit?
RefundSift checks your Canada tax situation for the charitable donations tax credit. Here is what it is, in plain language, with links to the official CRA pages.
Who qualifies
- You gave money or other property to a registered charity or other qualified donee and have the official receipts.
How much
You get federal and provincial or territorial non-refundable credits (line 34900, Schedule 9). The rate depends on how much you give; see CRA Guide P113.
How far back you can claim
You can ask CRA to change a past return online or with Form T1-ADJ; CRA says a refund cannot be issued for an adjustment request made more than 10 calendar years after the end of the tax year.
Check if you missed it
